On 30th September 2011, David Murray, President of Carnoustie and District Pipe Band, tragically lost his life. He was a man larger than life, who loved the Pipe Band and showed his love by giving his all to it. Without Dave's assistance through the sponsorship of David Murray Transport, the band would not be where it is today.

Carnoustie and District Pipe Band along with Dave's family, are now proud to announce the arrival of  the David Murray Memorial Pipe Band. Created in November 2011 in Dave's honour, the band will act as a juvenile feeder band to the senior, Carnoustie and District Pipe Band. It is anticipated that this band will be graded as Novice Juvenile with the RSPBA and will hopefully be entering it's first competitions in 2012.
